Soundcheck: Six Bands Hit the Area This Weekend

A plethora of live music hits the area this weekend in Wisconsin Rapids.

Friday, Aug. 11
Gray Catz — 7:00 p.m.
-Get the best in blues and rockabilly by catching the Gray Catz. They play the Hotel Mead, 451 E. Grand Ave.

Saturday, Aug. 12

Life’s a Dance — 4:00 p.m.
-Playing the Nekoosa Fireman’s Dance, Life’s a Dance will get your feet moving. The concert will be held at 951 Market St. in Nekoosa.

Bootlegg Hollar — 7:00 p.m.
-The second band to play the Nekoosa Fireman’s Dance on Saturday night will be country favorites Bootlegg Hollar. Check them out at 951 Market St.

The Kommissioners — 7:00 p.m.
-If you’re going to the Biron Fireman’s Dance instead, you’ll be treated to The Kommissioners. The dance is located at 451 Kalhoun Rd.

Rising Phoenix — 9:00 p.m.
-Hit downtown Wisconsin Rapids to check out Rising Phoenix as they play Hollyrock’s on Saturday night, 114 Second St. North.

Sunday, Aug. 13
Boomboxx — 4:00 p.m.
-After a busy weekend, wind down with Boomboxx, playing Anchor Bay Bar & Grill on Sunday afternoon. Anchor Bay is located at 3460 N. Biron Dr.
