WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Wisconsin Rapids will now have a 24 hour taxicab to serve the area.

Approved on Tuesday by the Finance & Property Committee, All Aboard Taxi-cab LLC will hit the streets for would-be rides for Rapids residents. Started by Shannon Sanders and Marty Huempfner, the home-grown company will start out with only one vehicle, but plans to eventually make its way to two as business grows.

According to Sanders, the cab will run 24/7 with the hopes of reducing drunk drivers.

“The whole reason we started this in part is because people are drinking and driving at such a high level right now,” said Sanders to finance members. “If you don’t have transportation for people to get around, or find someone who is sober, what are they going to do? There’s not a city bus that runs 24 hours, or a cab company that runs 24 hours — so we wanted to be 24 hours to keep people safe.”

For more information, please contact All Aboard Taxi-cab at 715-712-1449.
