Here is a rundown of the top weekend events happening in the Wisconsin Rapids area

Friday, Aug. 25
Nekoosa Football vs. River Valley — 7:00 p.m.
-Head to Holland Field for Nekoosa’s second game of the season. After a tough loss in their home opener, the Papermakers look to rebound against a tough River Valley team. You can catch the action at 600 Section St. in Nekoosa.

Saturday, Aug. 26
Paddlefest — 12:00 p.m.
-Fellow paddle and kayak enthusiasts will rejoice this weekend, and you can join them at Veterans Memorial Park. This event is “BYOB”, as well as water, snacks and life jackets. Group meet-up time is 1:00 p.m. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/221250108393930/

Saturday, Aug. 26
Freddie’s 4th Annual Bicycle Pub Crawl — 12:00 p.m.
-Biking and beer — enough said. Admission to the event is $20, which includes two meals, drink specials and more. Brunch will be served at 10:00 a.m. For more information, check out https://www.facebook.com/events/908406599297458/ Freddie’s Pub & Eatery is located at 2010 Chestnut St.

Saturday, Aug. 26
Rapids Football Festival — 3:00 p.m.
-Help support Lincoln High School football by hitting up the Rapids Football Festival on Saturday night. Golf ball drop, silent auction, and live music from Southbound will be the highlights of the evening, including a signed memorabilia from Rapids native and current Packer Vince Biegel. Sunday, Aug. 27
Sock Hop Cruise-In — 1:30 p.m.
-A blast from the past hits Rapids this Sunday. On top of a classic car show, there will be food stands, and live entertainment. Dressing up iin 50’s inspired clothing is encouraged. This event takes place at The Waterford, 491 25th St. South.
