Assumption Football Results: Royals Get Shutout in Blanchardville

City Times Staff
BLANCHARDVILLE — In a low-scoring, defensive affair, the Royals were shutout against the Vikings.
In their second non-conference game, Assumption struggled with a staunch Pecatonica-Argyle defense en route to a 20-0 loss. The Royals could not keep Vikings quarterback Colton Schraepfer from the endzone, passing for a 13-yard touchdown early in the first quarter, and later taking one in himself in the second.
A late score secured the victory for the Vikings with a Cory Swenson touchdown to put Pecatonica up 20-0, which would hold for the rest of the contest. Assumption accumulated 161 yards of total offense — all on the ground. Aden Eisen and Cole Statz contributed with 61 and 60 yards, respectively.
Assumption opens up conference play this Thursday at home when they take on the 1-1 Loyal Greyhounds.
