Isaac Pelot – 7 Touchdowns in 3 Games

Wisconsin Rapids area high schools are favored to win in each of their three contests this week, but that doesn’t go without challenges.

After flying right through Oshkosh North 48-7, the 61st state-ranked Red Raiders travel to Neenah to start a four game road trip. Neenah is coming off a 48-7 win themselves, as they dominated Appleton East last week. While both offenses look to put a lot of points on the board Friday night, it’s Isaac Pelot that has been the stand out for the Red Raiders.

Pelot has found the endzone seven times in just three games, making him the leading scorer for Lincoln going into this week’s contest. Quarterback Jacob Mancl is playing some of his most accurate football in his career, and top ranked wideout Isaiah Westfall had his best game of the season last week with three touchdowns and over 160 yards.

Both teams are 2-1, and only one will come out with three wins after Friday night. The Red Raiders take on the Rockets at Neenah High School at 7:00 p.m.

Assumption: Itching to Find Paydirt

Assumption High School has dropped their last two games without putting any points on the board. This is partly due to the injury to star quarterback Jake Sullivan. The 1-2 Royals look to rebound against an 0-3 Athens team that lost a nail-biter last week to Thorp, 22-20.

Aside from a staunch Royals defense, playmakers Cole Statz and Teddy Ashbeck look to step up this Friday night to give Assumption their first score in three games. They travel to Athens to take on the Blue Jays on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.

Papermakers Look for First Win

The season hasn’t gone completely as expected for Nekoosa, even with a tough non-conference schedule. This will continue on Friday night, as the Papermakers travel to Boscobel to take on the Bulldogs. Both defenses allowed 56 points last week, as Nekoosa is coming off a 56-6 loss to Lodi. Boscobel dropped their game last week to Mineral Point, losing 56-16.

Nekoosa quarterback Kyle Olsen has been playing well as of late, putting up 169 yards last week with a touchdown. With Marquan Wiesan on the rise as another weapon on the Papermaker offense, Nekoosa hopes to break the cycle and pick up their first win of the year. They travel to Boscobel on Friday night, kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
