Renewed Liberty to Host Canvas Painting Party
City Times Staff
WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Paint, drink a smoothie, and support a great cause.
Renewed Liberty is local non-profit group whose mission is simple: To provide, free of charge, a new US flag to homes that are flying a faded or tattered flag. On Friday, Sept. 29, join many others at the Blu Play Cafe, 1000 E. Riverview Expressway to paint your very own masterpiece.
Hosted by I Heart Canvas, $40 will get you all painting supplies, including a canvas and a smoothie. All other proceeds will go towards Renewed Liberty. The painting will be a fall theme with a “patriotic twist”.
“We will also give a free flag and house-mounted pole to any Central Wisconsin U.S. military member, current or retired, or the immediate family of either,” said founder and organizer Ben Holberg. “To date, Renewed Liberty has helped to retire 50 flags, and installed 36 Valor Flag sets.”
