WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A new continuing education offering from Mid-State Technical College promises to help community members learn how to successfully start, grow and sustain their small business.

The Entrepreneurship Series will be presented by local business owners, community leaders and Mid-State instructors over ten sessions, October through March. Anyone considering taking the course is encouraged to attend a preliminary free launch presentation on Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 6:00 p.m., on the Wisconsin Rapids campus.

Topics in the series include creating a business plan, accounting principles, staff development, marketing your business and more. Each session is a two-hour presentation with an optional third hour for participants to network, collaborate and engage in one-on-one help as desired.

The series will be followed by a free pitch event in May to give participants a shot at presenting their idea and business plan to local professionals and compete with others to win start-up funds. Mid-State is also hosting an Entrepreneurship Conference in June to provide additional learning and networking opportunities.
