WISCONSIN RAPIDS — City officials have approved a lease proposal from the Central Wisconsin Cultural Center (CWCC) that will see them move them into the space currently occupied by Wood County Offices inside the Centralia Center.
Such a space was coveted by the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre, however, the city has awarded the space to the cultural center in a 48-month lease, also giving the center the ability to terminate the contract after 12 months with a 90-day notice.
Rent will increase three percent annually, with an initial rental rate of $2,100 per month.
This success goes along with the contribution from local artist Joy Berg, who has intended to gift the property of the now closed Ebsen’s Greenhouse to the CWCC. The cultural center plans to start a fundraising campaign to raise money for building costs on the former Ebsen’s property.
