United Way Invites Businesses to Wear Jeans on Oct. 6

For the City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The entire community can support United Way of Inner Wisconsin on Friday, Oct. 6 by wearing denim at participating businesses and organizations during Community Wide Denim Day.
To get involved, ask your employer if they will be taking part in the fundraiser and then pay $5 to wear denim for the day.
If your business or organization would like to share in the fun, businesses will need to collect $5 from each participating employee and then drop off the proceeds at the United Way office (351 Oak Street, Wisconsin Rapids). You can also order free stickers that lets customers know that staff is wearing denim for a good cause. You can also feel confident in knowing that several other businesses and organizations across south Wood County are participating.
If your business or organization chooses to participate in Community Wide Denim Day, please contact Angie Loucks at the United Way office at 715-421-0390 or [email protected]. United Way will send a photographer to take a group photo and post the photos on social media.
“If we can get 1,000 people to wear denim and make a donation, we can raise $5,000 for the 2017 Campaign,” said Tari Jahns, CEO of United Way of Inner Wisconsin. “It’s amazing how something so simple as wearing jeans for a day can help the community.”
