OWATONNA, MINN. — The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings remain perfect on the year, after picking up two road wins this weekend over the Steel County Blades.

Saturday Night

After a quick start and 1-0 lead by the Blades, the Riverkings would soon put it together to grab a 5-2 win on Saturday night. However, the Riverkings responded with three straight goals in seven minutes to quickly turn the tables and make it 3-1.

Goals by Tommy McManus, Adam Peterson, and Rich Young put the ‘kings ahead, assissted by Xander Mavrogiannis, Austyn Quarters, and Brett DeLaat. Veteran Ryan Mantz and Russian sensation Daniil Piliya knocked in goals of their own in route to the 5-2 victory.

Parker Rutherford made his debut with the team, turning aside 29 shots to pick up his first win.

Sunday Night

Sunday night was low on scoring and big on saves, as the Riverkings continued their winning streak with a 2-0 win over the Blades.

Domenic Paciocoo made his debut in net for the Riverkings, and stopped 15 shots en route for a shutout. Daniil Piliya and Rich Young picked up goals on the night, for a quiet, but effective victory. Mavrogiannis and Hillebert came through with assists.

These wins improve their record to 6-0. The Riverkings will continue their road trip as they hit the USPHL Chicago Showcase from Thursday through Sunday.
