Lincoln Cruises Over D.C. Everest 51-20

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Lincoln will finish their season on a high note, as they cruised to a 51-20 last night over D.C. Everest at home in their annual “military game”.
Veterans and current military members showed their support for the Red Raiders, and in return, Lincoln put up the most points at home all year. After Jake Mancl linked up with Keegan Hewitt, and Isaac Pelot ran one in from 2-yards out, Lincoln found themselves up 14-7 after the first quarter.
However, it was Nash Coombs, who again provided that spark for the Red Raiders, as he blew the game open in the second quarter with a 80 yard run for a touchdown. This was followed by a 10-yard touchdown grab from Isaiah Westfall, and along with a Nathan Hepp field goal, we suddenly had a 31-14 game at halftime.
Isaiah Westfall would mirror week 7’s performance by catching two more touchdowns, one of which from 86-yards out. Westfall would finish with over receiving 250 yards on the night and three touchdowns. Quarterback Jake Mancl threw for over 300 yards on the night and 4 touchdowns to his credit. Running back Isaac Pelot finished the night with 133 yards and two touchdowns, with Nash Coombs complimenting the rushing attack with a touchdown and 100+ yard game of his own.
Nathan Hepp and Zachary Wendt led the team on the defensive side of the ball, as Wendt had three tackles on the night, with Hepp mirroring that, but picking up two interceptions.
Lincoln finishes their season at 6-3, and with that will wait for the official brackets to be released to prepare for next week’s layoff matchup.
