Serwe spent 6 seasons with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters announced today that Assistant General Manager Jake Serwe has been named Assistant General Manager of Big Top Baseball’s sister team the Madison Mallards.
“Jake has been a part of some of the biggest moments in Rafters history, including the World Series Championship in 2016 and Northwoods League record 52 win season in 2017,” said Rafters GM John Fanta. “His work ethic and dedication to the team and community will be missed and we wish him all the best with this new opportunity in Madison.”
Serwe just completed his sixth season with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and second as Assistant GM. He began his career with the Rafters as an operations intern and head groundskeeper in 2012 before joining the staff seasonally as the Ticket Sales and Box Office Manager in 2013. After his first two seasons, Jake was promoted full-time to Inside Sales and Operations Manager, a position which he held for the 2014 and 2015 seasons prior to being named Assistant GM. While with the Rafters, Jake worked with season ticket package holders and businesses to find group outing solutions for their employees. Some of his other responsibilities included updating the Rafters team website, writing press releases and coordinating media requests. He also managed concessions and ballpark operations at Witter Field during the summers.
“It has been an absolute pleasure working in Wisconsin Rapids. Being a part of such a great community and helping bring the 2016 World Series Championship to Wisconsin Rapids was one of the highlights of my career in Wisconsin Rapids. The Rafters are in great hands with John Fanta and Emily Steines and I’m looking forward to being able to watch a Rafters game at Witter Field in 2018,” stated Serwe.
Serwe began his career in baseball as an intern with the Omaha Storm Chasers of the Pacific Coast League in 2011. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from UW-Parkside in December of 2012.
