WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Parents concerned about their child’s safety online can attend a special presentation in the Mid-State Speaker Series on the topic. “Protecting Your Child’s Privacy in the Digital Age” is set for Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 6:00 p.m. on the College’s Stevens Point campus.

This presentation will explore the various dangers online that exist for all people, but particularly children. Topics include cyberbullying and violence, sexual content and predators, age-appropriate content, gaming concerns, use of equipment like webcams and voice-masking technology and other privacy issues. Tips on how to protect yourself and children from these dangers will be discussed and demonstrations provided.

The session is part of an ongoing series bringing Mid-State’s expertise on topics currently relevant to the community. There is no need to register to attend this or any presentation in Mid-State’s Speaker Series, and all sessions are free and open to the public. Find information about this and other upcoming topics at www.mstc.edu/speaker-series.
