WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Finance & Property Committee members approved more repairs to the Memorial Clock & Bell Tower.

Repairs will be funded with help from the Mead-Witter Foundation. According to Mayor Zach Vruwink, the remaining repairs include additional lighting and safety features for the tower.

“The scope hasn’t changed,” said Vruwink regarding the project. “They’re not doing anything new from what they were originally pursuing.”

In September, the Memorial Clock & Bell Tower was re-dedicate, which included the restoration of the original clock mechanism. This continues a years-long project that includes the restoration of parts of the interior and exterior.
