Local organization serves as collection site for Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s annual charity drive

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is inviting residents to drop off new or gently used coats, sweaters, hats, mittens and other warm clothing items as part of the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s “Big Bundle Up” campaign.

The Big Bundle Up is a statewide collection program running Nov. 16, 2017 – Jan. 2, 2018.

This is the seventh year of the Big Bundle Up. To date, the program has collected more than 103,400 warm winter items to help families in need. In addition to the Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, other collection sites, including Travel Wisconsin Welcome Centers, are located throughout the state.

Visit TravelWisconsin.com for a full listing of donation sites.

With the spirit of the holiday season upon us, donating winter items is the perfect way to give to families in need across the state. A box will be located at the Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau office and at Local on 1st/Karen’s Wines and Steins to drop off warm clothing items.

All items donated at these locations will be given to the Wisconsin Rapids Family Center. For more information about why the Wisconsin Rapids Area Convention and Visitors Bureau is participating in the Big Bundle Up, please contact Morgan Simon at715-422-4650 or msimon@visitwisrapids.com.
