Forest Lake, Minn. — The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings split their weekend series versus the Minnesota Mullets this weekend.

It didn’t start out pretty for the Riverkings, as their first night in Forest Lake led to a 3-0 shutout loss. After a scoreless first period, a penalty would lead to a power play goal for the Mullets, which the Riverkings would never be able to answer.

Mullets Goalie Jack Bostedt knocked away 16 shots on the night in a perfect performance.

However, on Saturday night the Riverkings returned the favor, taking a 3-0 road victory over the Mullets in the rubber match. All goals would come in the first period, kicked off by Rich Young early on. Raymond Fleming and Jacob Gaydos would chip in with assists by Daniil Piliya, Tristan Hillebert, Jesse Edwards, and Brett DeLatt.

Erik Schuette would go perfect on the night, swiping away 21 shots on goal in the win.

The Riverkings take a holiday break, but will be back in action on Dec. 1 at home against rival Chicago Cougars.
