Free haircuts and more at ‘Cuts for Kids’ event

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College Cosmetology students will again hone their hair-cutting skills while giving back to the community at this year’s Cuts for Kids event at the College’s on-campus salon in Wisconsin Rapids, Dec. 5 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event provides free haircuts and community resources to families in need, in addition to free food, Christmas cookie decorating, hands-on activities related to Mid-State programs, a GaGa Pit game area and a chance to meet Santa.

Cuts for Kids is part of Mid-State’s ongoing effort to give its Cosmetology students relevant hands-on experience that effectively prepares them to be industry leaders in the workforce. “Cuts for Kids events are great opportunities for our Cosmetology program students and instructors to provide a needed service to members of our surrounding community while utilizing their expertise” stated Missy Skurzewski-Servant, dean of business and technology.

Participants can register in advance at www.mstc.edu/cuts4kids or call Angie Steltenpohl at 715-422-5408.
