NEKOOSA –With Black Friday gone, the holiday season can kick into full gear, and right around the corner is the annual South Wood County Humane Society Christmas Bazaar.

At the event’s new location inside the Nekoosa Community Center, 116 Crestview Ln., the event will offer holiday decor, baked goods, trees, trimmings, pet items, gifts, vintage apparel, and jewelry. The event has a core group of volunteers that work on the one-day event year-round, and according to SWCHS Executive Director Bridget Chariton, the move to the new space has been a breeze.

“We are looking forward to the new space and the Nekoosa Community Center has been very accommodating of our needs,” said Chariton. “In addition to supporting the Humane Society we hope that our shoppers will also patronize the businesses and restaurants in Nekoosa.”

Everything sold in the bazaar is donated, and not just from Wisconsin Rapids residents. People from as far as Wausau and Merrill drop off items for this event. All proceeds will go to the humane society and the event will run on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 8AM – 5PM, and Sunday, Dec. 10 from 9AM to 4PM.
