Update: More Information Released on High St. Shooting Incident

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The investigation continues into the Tuesday shooting of a 51-year-old man in what authorities believe was a targeted a home invasion.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at approximately 6:00 p.m. at a residence on the 1200 block of High St. Two men were taken into custody on Thursday evening on charges related to the invasion. There is no comment at this time on specific charges.

The 51-year-old man residing at the home was shot in the lower torso and is in stable condition. Occupants of the home at the time of the invasion have indicated that the home was a specific target.  According to local authorities, witnesses and victims involved have been very forthcoming about the incident.

“We are encouraging the public to be aware and mindful of the incident but understand this incident does not appear to be random in nature.”

The suspected vehicle involved has also been further identified and located by police.  (no further description will be provided at this time).
