Obituary: Donald Clendenning, 76

Donald Clendenning age 76, formerly of Whiting passed away peacefully Thursday morning Dec. 21, 2017 at Maple Ridge Memory Care of Plover, where he has been residing. He was under the care of Heartland Hospice and was surrounded by his loving family.
Don was born May 23, 1941 in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Floyd and Caroline (Compton) Clendenning.
As a family they moved to the Plover area and he attended local schools. Don married Patricia Shudarek on Nov. 25, 1961 at St Peter Catholic Church. The couple settled in Whiting and raised their family. Don worked at Consolidated Paper until his retirement in 1999. He played a lot of softball in his younger days for Moore Barn and Willie’s Bar, where he also managed the bar operations for a time. He was a volunteer at the Whiting Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and helping others.
Don is survived by his two children: Carleen (Dan) O’Connell, Wisconsin Rapids; Scott (Rachel) Clendenning, Pace, FL. Five grandchildren: Jess (Kurt) Beneker, Tanna (Ryan) Livernash, Shawn O’Connell, Naomi Clendenning, and Alina Clendenning. Four great-grandchildren: Raiden Livernash, Carson Livernash, Dailyn Livernash, and Kate Beneker. Two sisters: Sherry Borski, Merrill and Joanne (Jerry) Krueger, Plover. Sister-in-Law: Linda (Dave) Meronek, Custer. Brother-in-Laws: Alex (Sheri) Shudarek, Phelps and Joe Shudarek, Stevens Point. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia in 2012 and an infant brother.
