For the City Times

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — We’re all in a Norwegian mood, with the snow and cold outside, and the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre (WRCT) is bringing Norway inside, with the first Sunday play reading of the greatest plays by Norway favorite son, Henrik Ibsen.

“We’re starting with “Peer Gynt,” a fantastic fable of a young braggart and womanizer, and the dozens of larger-than-life characters who love him…and hate him!” said Director Cathy Meils. “It’s a wild romp of a play, and was Ibsen’s first big success.”

Some two-dozen actors from the community theatres in Marshfield, Stevens Point, and Wisconsin Rapids are gathering on the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre main stage, Sunday at 1 PM. We’ll follow the reading with a lively discussion between actors and audience, along with coffee and a taste of some typical Norwegian food.

Admission is free.

“Come and join us for a memorable afternoon.”
