WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Rapids Police will soon hold their annual Safety Patrol Fundraiser Campaign, and they’re looking for the community to come together to help.

“The Wisconsin Rapids Safety Patrol Board oversees all Safety Patrol groups in the Wisconsin Rapids area (Public and Private) Each school has a Safety Patrol Supervisor that works with each group. Safety Patrol is a AAA program that has been around  for over 95 years. Since its inception in the early 1920s, the AAA School Safety Patrol program has provided a safer pedestrian environment and wide spectrum of educational opportunities for millions of schoolchildren. Today our Safety Patrol program serves to instill these young leaders with responsibility and leadership as they protect classmates going to and from school each day.” – Safety and School Resource Officer Eric Daven

Schools that will participate in the event will be Grove, Howe, Immanuel, Mead, St. Paul’s, St. Vincent, Washington, Woodside, and the THINK Academy. Donation forms will be sent out soon for this great cause, but feel free to drop by the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department to donate funds for the campaign.

Funds that are raised will go toward equipment and related costs with the program.

“The Wisconsin Rapids Police Department would like to thank those that have donated over the years and supported our young leaders.”
