Obituary: Joseph Getzloff, 59

Joseph T. “Joe” Getzloff, 59, of Vesper, passed away on Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, 2018, at home while under the care of his family and Ministry Hospice.

He was born on Dec. 12, 1958, in Stevens Point, to Clarence and Elaine (Lepinski) Getzloff and was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids. On Sep. 29, 1979, his marriage to Janet Junemann took place in Milladore.

Joe had worked as a forklift operator at Kerry in Vesper for 38 years, and his interests included fishing, hunting, camping, NASCAR and watching football with his son.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Getzloff of Vesper; son, Jesse (special friend, Kari) Getzloff of Vesper; mother, Elaine Getzloff of Plover; brothers, Bill (Marlene) of Stevens Point, Jerry (Pam) of Nekoosa, Wayne (Sandy) of Nekoosa, Randy of Wisconsin Rapids; sisters, Teresa Lucas of Plover, Margie (Leonard) Matthews of Wisconsin Rapids, and Cathy (Glenn) Hanneman of Kellner; brothers-in-law, Ed and Shirley Junemann of Rudolph, Jim and Nancy Junemann of Rudolph, and Mark and Anne Junemann of Sherry; also, many nephews and nieces.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; infant sister, Jeanne; mother-and-father-in-law, Donald and Loretta Junemann; and brother-in-law, Bob Lucas.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home, 2201 Chestnut Street in Wisconsin Rapids, with the Rev. Douglas Schalow officiating. Visitation will be from 5 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and again on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
