WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A new transfer agreement between Mid-State Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls creates an affordable new pathway to a four-year degree for those interested in a career in agriculture. The agreement allows students completing an associate degree in Agribusiness and Science Technology at Mid-State to transfer directly to the bachelor of science in Agricultural Studies at UW-River Falls. Graduates from Mid-State will enter UW-River Falls with 60 of the degree’s 128 credits completed.

“We are proud of our collaboration with Mid-State to create more agriculture-related educational opportunities to students in central Wisconsin,” said Dr. Brenda Boetel, professor and department chair of agricultural economics and agricultural marketing specialist at UW-River Falls. “We look forward to supporting individual Mid-State students to ensure a successful transfer to UW-River Falls.”

“We are excited to see this new transfer agreement come to fruition,” said Mid-State’s vice president of Academics, Dr. Sandy Kiddoo. “It shows our ongoing commitment to provide students with more pathways to an affordable bachelor’s degree as well as our efforts to help grow agriculture and support this important industry in central Wisconsin.”

Mid-State students can learn more about this transfer opportunity by contacting their academic advisor. Those new to the College can call 888.575.6782 and ask to speak to an outreach coordinator or new student specialist.
