Kathy Hanneman

Kathy L. Hanneman, 58, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at the Marshfield Medical Center.

She was born on Sep. 6, 1959, in Wisconsin Rapids, to the late Dick and Shirley (Lutz) Gerzmehle. On Aug. 28, 2004, she was married to Tom Hanneman.

Kathy had most recently worked at Corex in Stevens Point. Prior to that, she owned and operated Kathy’s Drive-in in Wisconsin Rapids for 10 years where she served the world’s greatest fish fries, burgers, and soups. Earlier she had worked at Schreiber Foods, was a care giver and cook at Wellington Place, and bartended at various places including The Brig and O’Day’s.

Her interests included spending time with her grandchildren, camping at Hatfield and Cera Park, shopping, and spoiling her dog. She always cooked enough for a small army, but was a master in the kitchen when it came to ground beef bbq, potato salad, and burning garlic bread.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Tom Hanneman; daughter, Jenna (Jake Kelley) Hanneman; son, William (Andrea) Wagner all of Wisconsin Rapids; sister, Mary (Jerry) Pieper of Caledonia, Minnesota; brother, Steve (Tammy) Gerzmehle of Wisconsin Rapids; and grandchildren, Jayda, Jacob, Nathan and Isabella.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Utecht; and brother, Jim Gerzmehle.

A memorial visitation for Kathy will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at the Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. The Herman-Taylor Funeral Home & Cremation Center is honored to be assisting the family. For online condolences, please visit www.taylorfuneralhome.net.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at a future date.
