League of Women Voters to Host March Candidate Forums

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The League of Women Voters of the Wisconsin Rapids Area (LWVWRA) and Wisconsin Rapids Community Media (WRCM) is hosting three forums for the candidates competing on the April 3 general election ballot for the positions of Wisconsin Rapids School Board, Wisconsin Rapids Alderman-District 2, Wisconsin Rapids Mayor, Wisconsin Rapids City Clerk, Town of Grand Rapids Supervisors, City of Nekoosa Mayor, Nekoosa School Board.

The forums will be held at the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theater (located in the Centralia Center at 220 3rd Ave. S, adjacent to the Rapids Mall) on three dates:

Tuesday, March 13 at 6:30 PM.

Invited candidates are:

Wisconsin Rapids School Board: John Benbow Jr, Katie Bielski-Medina, Troy Bier,

Larry Davis.

Wednesday, March 14 at 6:00 PM.

Invited candidates are:

District 2 Alderman: Todd Ferkey and Lee Graf

Wisconsin Rapids Mayor: Zachary Vruwink and Keith Hetzel

Wisconsin Rapids City Clerk: Paul Przybelski and Judy Velazquez

Thursday, March 15 at 6:00 PM.

Invited candidates are:

Town of Grand Rapids Supervisors: Bill Clendenning, Michael Martin and Andrew Simon

City of Nekoosa Mayor: Daniel J Carlson and Alan K Marcoux

Nekoosa School Board: David Schmidt, Robert Shear and Cody Przybylski

The forum can be viewed live on the WRCM website at www.wr-cm.org , Solarus high-definition channel 3, Charter Cable standard-definition channel 985 and on Roku devices by adding the WRCM’s channel through the web at: http://roku.streamsource.tv/add/wrcm.

The League encourages voters to attend this event or phone 715-423-0441 to submit questions to the candidates during the live broadcast.

The forum will be rebroadcast at various times on the television channels and will also be available on WRCM’s YouTube channel 24 hours after the forum, at www.wisconsinrapidscommunitymedia.com.
