WISCONSIN RAPIDS — On Monday morning at 10:08 am, hospitals throughout Wisconsin paused for 1 minute and 14 seconds to recognize the 114,000 people currently on the national organ waiting list.

Every 10 minutes, a new name is added to the organ donation waitlist and one donor can save eight lives. To become an organ donor, visit https://www.donatelife.net/

At Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, Kim Johnson, Vice President of Patient Care/Chief Nursing Officer, shared a few words prior to the flag raising and moment of silence. Aspirus Riverview’s Donate Life flag was raised by Paul E. Frigoli, Director of Emergency Services, and Dawn Tibbetts, a Wisconsin Rapids resident and heart donation recipient.

Donate Life flags were raised today at 85 hospitals throughout Wisconsin, including the Aspirus hospitals in Wausau, Antigo and Medford.
