From the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – On May 20, at about 8:56 p.m., Wisconsin Rapids PoliceDepartment officers were called to Jimmy John’s restaurant, 2020 Eighth St. S, for an armed robbery.

When officers arrived, the suspect had already left the store.

A Jimmy John’s staff member stated that the suspect entered the restaurant, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. The employee did as instructed and the suspect fled the store. An undetermined amount of money was stolen during the robbery. The employee was not injured.

It is unknown if the suspect left the scene on foot or in a vehicle.

The suspect is described as a male in his late 50s with a bushy mustache and facial hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans
