MARSHFIELD – At a special meeting of the Marshfield Board of Education on May 23, board members unanimously voted Dr. Ryan Christianson in as the next district superintendent.

Christianson has been a Rapids administrator for the past 15 years, also serving as an associate principal for five years before serving as principal of Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School between 2008-2012. Dr. Christianson is currently the Director of Human Resources at Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools.

The Marshfield School Board and three advisory committees completed initial interviews May 7, and narrowed it down to two finalists – Christianson and Dr. Tony Brazouski.

“The School District of Marshfield was very fortunate to have two excellent finalists for our superintendent position,” said Board President Frances Bohon. “We are excited that Dr. Ryan Christianson has accepted the position. He has a strong background in the operations of a district our size, a loyalty to education in central Wisconsin, and our vetting process indicates that he is a man of integrity. With his continual improvement focus and collaborative style, we have confidence that he will foster educational excellence for all our students.”

Dr. Christianson’s position will become effective July 1.
