United Way of Inner Wisconsin’s Volunteer Center promotes the volunteer needs of local non-profit organizations in both south Wood and Adams Counties on a weekly basis. Here is how you can get involved and volunteer for these great organizations.

Weird Science Assistant- Do you enjoy the science, children, and experiments? We are offering a special event activity to be held at the Helen’s Zoo House. Volunteers will assist with science projects, setting and cleaning up, and supervision. No experience necessary. Volunteer should enjoy working with children. No experience necessary. Instructor will lead in teaching the experiments. Come and join us!
Splish Splash Volunteers- Do you enjoy the sunshine, children, arts and crafts, and storytelling? We are offering a special event activity to be held at the Mead Splash Pad. Volunteers will assist with storytelling, arts and craft project and supervision. No experience necessary. Volunteer should enjoy working with children.
Rock Painting Assistant- Love to paint or work with children, this is for you! We need volunteers to assist the instructor with set-up, supplies, and clean-up. No experience necessary. You will assist with amateur artists paint their rocks by aiding them with supplies, paint as needed. This is a one time opportunity offered throughout the summer.
Family Center: Front Office Assistant- Front office help with the ability to answer a multi-line phone system and take messages. To assist with data entry and other various office tasks, including filing, the accepting and processing of donations, writing thank-you’s, and some light cleaning. We are in need of Office Assistants Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Shifts are a minimum of three to four hours, but can be up to eight hours.
Visitation Assistant- Our Visitation Program includes safe exchanges and supervised visitation. It is designed to offer families a safe and healthy environment to spend quality time together, which encourages positive child-parent relationships. Volunteers are needed to interact with children and parents, while assisting visitation staff ,conduct exchanges and visitation. Position also includes some office duties, as well as some light cleaning. Position is available between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
