Henry “Hank” Holstein
Henry “Hank” Holstein, 98, formerly of rural Vesper, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1919, in the Wood County town of Hansen, to the late John and Cora (Bussema) Holstein. On April 2, 1948, he was married to Minnie Vlietstra in Birnamwood.
Hank owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Sigel and he loved talking about farming and the weather.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Holstein; daughter, Pamela (Christopher) Barney; sisters, Josie Overzet and Elaine Suwyn; and brother, John (Nancy) Holstein, Jr.
In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his sisters, Celia Smits, Johanna Holstein and Helen Joling; brother, John Holstein; brothers-in-law, George Overzet, Peter Suwyn, Arnold Smits and John Joling.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the ‘angels’ at Atrium Senior Living for the love and kindness they showered upon Hank every day. Thanks, also, to the staff at Aspirus Riverview Hospital for their wonderful care, support and smiling faces as he ended his journey.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Faith Reformed Church, 1321 32nd Street North, Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Vance Elzinga will officiate. Burial will be in the Christian Reformed Cemetery in Vesper. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
