Mary T. Radtke, 56, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

She was born on Sep. 9, 1961, in Menomonee Falls, to Charles and Eva (Hager) Nelson.

Mary had earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Alverno College and was an elementary teacher and principal at Holy Redeemer Christian Academy in Milwaukee, as well as for Sunday School and VBS Bible Camp.

She was proud of her son Rory’s Army career and his several advancements, and her grandson Isaiah’s hockey. Mary appreciated the love of her parents, siblings, friends, church family and each and every relationship she had. She thanks her mom for always supporting her and all the help with raising Rory; and the prayers and support of family and friends during her battle with cancer.

Survivors include her son, Rory Leonard Radtke-Ostricki; grandson, Isaiah Colton Buczak; granddaughter, Peyton Monroe Radtke; father, Charles Nelson; mother, Eva Nelson; siblings, Randy (Kathy) Nelson, Debra Nelson, Scott (Mary) Nelson, Cindy (Tom) Steidl, Pam Miles, Paula Leissring and Todd (Heather) Nelson; all her nieces and nephews; her Minnesota family (on her mother’s side); and her Godchildren, Anthony and Luke.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Kari Marie Nelson; step-mother, Diane Nelson; brother-in-law, George Uribe; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Dorothy Nelson; and maternal grandparents, Roger and Margret Hager.

The family thanks the staff at House of the Dove for their care of Mary. In lieu of flowers, donations to the House of the Dove in Mary’s name are appreciated.

The memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Woodland Lutheran Church in the town of Rome, with Pastor Bill Fischer officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

The Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is honored to be assisting the family. For online condolences, please visit www.taylorfuneralhome.net.
