WISCONSIN RAPIDS – A groundbreaking was held May 31 to mark the start of construction on a Wisconsin Rapids Dunkin’ Donuts location.

During the ceremony, a welcome was given by building architect Timothy J. Kritter, from TJK Design Build, Madison. Randy Balko, owner of Eagle Construction, also spoke about the importance of keeping workers and construction supplies local.

Kim DelCastillo, regional supervisor for Dunkin Donuts, said that she is excited to be bringing a store to Wisconsin Rapids and that the building will be one of their “Next Gen” restaurants, with a new design. She also stated that Dunkin Donuts feels very strongly about being involved in the community and supporting local charities.

The new store will be located at 2121 Eight St. South, south of Pizza Hut. The facilities are scheduled for completion in September.

Dunkin’ Donuts currently has locations in Marshfield, Plover, Wausau, and Weston.
