WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Rafters fell to the Lakeshore Chinooks in the first game of a home series — their third meeting. The cranberry and gold fell 4-1 after a well fought game. The Rafters totaled three hits while the Chinooks recorded seven. The Rafters are now 14-16 while the Chinooks are 12-17.

The Lakeshore Chinooks would get an early jump on the Rafters plating one in the top of the first via an RBI single from Christian Boulware. They would hold off the Rafters until the fifth inning.

The sole run was scored by Mike Rojas (Auburn). Rojas would hit a leadoff home run to left on the first pitch of the fifth inning — his first homer with the Rafters.

Lakshore would record two more runs in the eighth from a sac fly and a Rafters error. One more came across in the ninth on an RBI groundout. Wisconsin Rapids brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth with Mitch Mallek (St. Cloud State). The Chinooks, however, would hold the Rafters to their lone run.

The win was awarded to Kevin Tibor (3-2, 1.31 ERA) who pitched 7.1 innings and recorded seven strikeouts. The loss was given to Josh Aguilar (0-1, 7.04 ERA) and the save to Joe Gahm — his first.
