Rafters shut out by Chinooks

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (18-23, 3-3 second half) were shut out by the Lakeshore Chinooks (22-19, 6-0 second half) 4-0 at Kapco Park. Lakeshore rode the hot hand of starter Kevin Tibor who went all nine innings allowing no runs on six hits, issued no walks, and accrued five strikeouts.
The Chinooks scored two unearned runs between the first and fourth as the Rafters committed four errors in field. Lakeshore scored earned runs in the seventh and eighth. A sacrifice fly brought in a run in the seventh followed by a base hit in the eighth frame.
Wisconsin Rapids had its chances in the fifth and sixth with runners at the corners and one out on the board, but double plays ended those scoring chances.
Kevin Tibor (4-3. 1.26 ERA) got his fourth win of the season in the complete game shutout. Jake Cook (1-5, 6.68 ERA), despite putting in a quality start, suffered the loss with two unearned runs on four hits. Cook struck out four in six innings pitched.
