Riverkings find gem from Rhode Island

WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Riverkings have found a diamond in the rough from Prout, R.I., in 01 forward Kyle Smith.
The 6’, 175 lb. forward comes from the same summer program that produced the Riverkings Jake Nitsche, Dylan Torres, and Xander Mavrogiannis.
Coach Quarters said: “When former Riverking Jake Michael Nitsche called me and said he found a forward in Rhode Island that can not only help us but we can also help him and that he fits our aggressive style of play, I tend to listen.
“Kyle is a hard fore-checking player who excels at puck protection, speed, ice vision, and a stoic but passionate approach. After meeting with Kyle and his Dad it was obvious their hard working background fits our culture and felt Kyle is a perfect fit.
“Kyle’s no nonsense style of play and work ethic has our staff feeling we have found a diamond in the rough and will be a welcome addition to our team”.
Kyle will be attending Lincoln High School this fall.
