Ice cream story with a twist

At 10:34 p.m., a 29-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man called police after his son told him a man came into their home and forced him to go get ice cream with him. The son stated he got away and didn’t know where the man had gone. After police arrived the child admitted to making the story up instead of telling his dad that he walked to the store by himself.

July 4

Walking on a stumbled road

At 11:02 p.m., a caller reported a young man walking on the sidewalk wearing no shirt or pants. He appeared to be stumbling a lot as he walked. The young man was taken home and given an underage citation.

July 5

A weed wacker problem

At 12:06 p.m., a 53-year-old Wisconsin Rapids woman called reporting that while her vehicle was parked in a parking lot, a city employee had weed wacked and there was gravel and dirt on her brand new car. After looking at the car, the woman and a police officer could not see any damages.

July 8

Storage unit trashed

At 5:21 p.m., a 47-year-old man reported that a storage unit had been broken into on W. Grand Ave., and had been trashed. Larger items such as a washer/dryer, bikes, and tools were reported as stolen.

Steal and run?

At 5:42 p.m., an employee at a store on Eighth Street South called police regarding a theft that had just occurred. A 23-year-old woman took off with a bag of stuff and threw it in her car. She then continued running. The store did have their merchandise returned.

A paintball target

At 8:19 p.m., a 25-year-old man reported that while he and a friend were at a park in Wisconsin Rapids, his friend was shot in the head with a paintball gun. The paintball gun was shot from a vehicle when it hit him.

July 9

You too can be saved!

At 9:22 p.m., a 19-year-old woman reported that a man cornered her outside when she left a store on W. Grand Ave., and was hugging her, trying to hold her hands, and telling her she needed to be saved. The man left before police arrived.
