WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School student, Alison Hepp, joined more than 1,500 Educator Rising student leaders, teacher leaders, and Phi Delta Kappa members in Orlando, FL, for the annual 2018 Educators Rising National Conference where she was recognized as a national finalist.

The conference provided Educator Rising students opportunities to come together for energizing learning while listening to inspiring speakers, connecting with other aspiring teachers, expanding leadership skills, sharpening talents, and exploring the teaching career pathway.  The theme of this year’s conference was “We Stand Up,” which inspired attendees to stand up and make a change.

Educators Rising students had the opportunity to compete in 19 performance-based competitions.  These competitions provided the opportunity for the aspiring teacher to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and leadership in education.

Alison Hepp participated in one of 19 competitive events called “Educators Rising Leadership Award.”  This event sought to exemplify sound leadership and a strong commitment to improving education in local communities. The project required a minimum of 40 hours of work completed outside course curriculum and a completed project portfolio and presentation to a panel of judges, detailing the strategy for sustainability when the competition is over.

Alison was recognized as the third place National finalist for her project, “Raider Buddies.”
