Rafters shut out by Kingfish

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (20-27, 5-7 second half) were shut out by the Kenosha Kingfish (23-23, 10-2 second half) July 15 afternoon 4-0. The Rafters were held to three hits while Kenosha scored four times on 11 hits.

The Kingfish scored twice in the first from three consecutive base hits from the top of their order. Two more runs score between the sixth and seventh frames. Three doubles brought in a run in the sixth for Kenosha with Mike Madej earning the RBI. A single from Weiller brought in a run in the seventh.

Jake Cook (1-6, 6.62 ERA) suffered the loss allowing two runs in three innings. Kaleb Schmidt (1-4, 3.79 ERA) earned his first win through seven scoreless and six strikeouts.
