WISCONSIN RAPIDS — The Post 9 Rangers gave Wausau their first loss in Class AAA American Legion regional competition July 23 at Witter Field.

The Rangers came out strong again, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding on four in the third, while Wausau remained scoreless.

Wausau came alive in the final two innings, but the Rangers were too much to handle, ending the game in the sixth with a 12-2 win.

Post 9 now advances to the championship game at Witter Field July 24 at 7 p.m. and will face the winner of the 4 p.m. elimination game between Wausau and Plover.
