Registration opens for third annual Mid-State Trapshoot
For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Registration is now open for the Mid-State Technical College Foundation third-annual Trapshoot Fundraiser on Sept. 7. The event will be held at the Wisconsin Trapshooting Association in Nekoosa. Highlights include prizes for the highest-scoring teams, 25 practice rounds, 50 scoring rounds, raffles and contests, and lunch.
According to Jill Steckbauer, director of Mid-State’s Foundation & Alumni, the event is designed to prioritize funding for student scholarships, student services, and special program support and is a major source of funding for the school’s emergency loan and grant programs that help Mid-State students stay enrolled in college despite financial hurdles.
“The Trapshoot Fundraiser doubled in participation last year, raising over $3,000 for emergency grant programs to benefit students,” Steckbauer said. “Interest is really starting to take off in the community, so we’re excited to see how much we can raise this year to help students stay in school while delivering an unforgettable day of trapshooting.”
Both adults and children are encouraged to participate, though children ages 10–17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All participants will be required to sign a waiver of participation at the event, and shooters are asked to bring their own shotgun and shooting vest. Hearing protection and ammunition will be provided.
