WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (26-29, 11-9 second half) earned a 7-3 win to sweep the Lakeshore Chinooks (25-30, 9-11 second half) in the final series between the two clubs in 2018. Trayson Kubo (Stephen F. Austin) took a no-hitter into the seventh in his third quality start of the season.

The cranberry and gold started their offense in the third. Alex Fedje-Johnson (Davidson) collected an RBI double, one of four hits collected by the Minneapolis, MN, native. Ty Duvall (Vanderbilt) drove in two more with a base hit of his own. One more Rafter run came home in the sixth due to a Chinooks error. Jake Dunham (Northern Illinois) scored the run for Wisconsin Rapids in the sixth.

Lakeshore responded in the seventh with two runs. Takihiro Yamada and Jack Dunn brought runs in with base hits. Wisconsin Rapids scored two of their own in the seventh. A wild pitch allowed Brody Wofford (University of Central Florida) to score and Mitch Mallek (St. Cloud State) collected an RBI single.

Both teams scored once in the eighth. Zach Clayton drove in one with a single while Jordan Wiley (Kalamazoo College) scored in the bottom of eighth off a wild pitch. Mason McReaken (SIU Edwardsville) struck out the side in the ninth pitching the final 1.2 innings.

Trayson Kubo (6-1, 1.30 ERA) earned his sixth win of the season with seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings. Kevin Tibor (4-5, 2.44 ERA) suffered the loss allowing three runs in four innings of work.
