For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Central Wisconsin Cultural Center has a full calendar of events and workshops available during the month of August. The Rural Reactive exhibit runs until Aug. 10, with 35 original works of art depicting rural places, people, and things of importance through photographs, paintings, sculptures, and a short film.
Aug. 17 marks the start of Brian Schuetz’ still life and Wisconsin landscapes exhibit. The opening reception will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m.
On Aug. 23, Central Wisconsin Choristers will perform, 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at Lunch by the River, Veterans Memorial Park. The Cultural Center is home to the Choristers’ year-round practice and recitals, and they invite everyone to their outdoor performance along the beautiful Wisconsin River.
August workshops include a Pour-Painting Dragonfly Garden art class and Mosaic Garden art workshop.
The public is also invited to take an online workshop interest poll.
“Since moving to the Johnson Hills Building, we’ve seen a huge jump in attendance and interest in our workshops and exhibits,” said Executive Director Stephany Hartman. “Visitors are very happy with the natural light and expanded classroom space. We invite the community to take 30 seconds online and indicate their workshop interests.”
