Rafters swept by Bombers in Battle Creek

For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (29-34, 14-14 second half) fell to the Battle Creek Bombers (32-32, 16-13 second half) 3-1. Both teams collected eight hits but, the Rafters couldn’t get the hit to bring home runs as they left 12 on base.
Wisconsin Rapids started the scoring though, as Ethan Stringer (Louisville) lead the game with his second triple of the season. Dustin Woodcock (SIU Edwardsville) brought in Stringer on a groundout. Stringer would finish a home run shy of the cycle going 3-for-5. It was all Bombers from then onward. Battle Creek scored on a base hit from Jake Wilson in the second and a sac fly from Henderson in the third. One more run came in on an RBI single. The Rafters threatened here and there but Battle Creek held on for a 3-1 win.
