WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Devin Roeder has joined the Riverkings staff as assistant coach for the 2018-19 season.
Devin is an original Riverking having played for Coach Marty Quarters and Coach Wayne Brown in 2014. Devin went on to play college hockey in his hometown at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, before injuries ended his career.
Devin will be working on Coach Quarters staff as an assistant coach. Devin will help with practice and games, video preparation, and assisting with building hockey up and down the river.
“Devin not only understands our culture, but he has had a hand in helping develop it,” Quarters said. “Being an OG Riverkings, Devin knows firsthand what the players need and what is expected of them, because he has walked in their shoes. His advice and understanding will be very helpful to the players and our staff.
“Devin was a hard-working, gritty player with a great passion for the game. We are excited to welcome Devin to our staff and feel he will be a great addition.”
Roeder said that he was extremely grateful for the opportunity Coach Quarters and the Riverkings have provided. “I’m looking forward to help continue to build hockey up and down the river, this time off the ice in a coaching role,” he said.
