Bawara named to WRCT position

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre (WRCT) has announced that Martha Bawara has filled the new position of full-time production and facility director with the organization.
Martha has recently returned to the central Wisconsin area after more than a decade. Coming from Houston, TX, Martha was director of theatre arts and technical theatre at Awty International, gaining certification as an international baccalaureate theatre arts educator with additional certification including emphasis in: devising theatre, documentary theatre, theatre in unconventional spaces, and acting technique.
While in Texas, Martha also served as musical director and lead ensemble vocalist with AWJ Productions, a premier gospel production company performing in and around the Houston area. Before then, she performed and worked as musical director with local South Florida theatre companies.
Her directing and educational career began at North Broward Preparatory School in Boca Raton. Originally from Milwaukee, Martha has been working professionally in the arts since childhood and is an accomplished actress and vocalist currently featured with River Cities Jazz. She sits on the board of the Central Wisconsin Area Community Theatre.
Martha’s responsibilities will include production management, facility management, and front office ticket sales, as well as volunteer recruitment and management.
