Mildred M. Johnson

Mildred M. Johnson, 94, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2018, at Waupaca Elder Care in Waupaca, Wisconsin.

A lifetime resident of central Wisconsin, she was born to the late Henry and Lucy (Wenzel) Hintz on Dec. 30, 1923, in Stevens Point. On Sep. 19, 1942, she was married to Delbert Johnson at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Delbert passed away on Oct. 19, 1994.

Mildred had worked at Weber Lifelike Fly Company, Harvard Clothes and SuperValu, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, AARP, Wisconsin Rapids Senior Center and was a volunteer at Riverview Hospital.

Survivors include her sons, Jerel (Barbara) Johnson of Wauwatosa, and Alan (Mary Jo) Johnson of Appleton; daughters, Gail Norene of Cedarburg, and Lois Johnson of Waupaca; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Sep. 24, 2018, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids with the Rev. Jerome Patric officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery, Stevens Point at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time for Mass on Monday.
