Luis Montijo Rodriguez

Luis Montijo Rodriguez, age 76, of Nekoosa died peacefully in his home on Friday September 14, 2018.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday September 19, 2018 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa. Rev. John Swing will officiate. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 AM until the time of service.

Luis was born August 31, 1942 in Chihuahua, Mexico, where he served his country prior to his arrival in the United States. He was employed by Huebner Farms and B&D Farms as a farmer for over 40 years. Most recently, he enjoyed his seasonal employment with Wisconsin River Cranberry since 2016.

In earlier years, Luis was an amateur boxer and enjoyed farming and horse riding. He loved playing cards, singing and dancing with his wife, Susana. He always looked forward to watching football on Sundays especially the Packers. Luis loved to take “country drives” with his wife where he used to farm. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Susana Rodriguez; eight children Sergio (Elodia) Rodriguez, Manuel (Nora) Rodriguez, Angie (Alex) Alday, Maria Elena Vollert, Rita Austin, Rosalia (Pete) Steinhafel, Anthony Pabst and Anna Pabst; 22 grandchildren; four great grandchildren with one more on the way and three brothers Antonio, Armando (Gloria) and Lupe.

Luis was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Berta, Rosa and Angela and two brothers Manuel and Valentin.
