Saratoga infant death under investigation

SARATOGA – The death of a Wood County infant is under investigation. Local and state authorities are looking into the death of a five-month-old boy, which occurred Sept. 17 in the town of Saratoga.
The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families made the investigation public on Sept. 19, and mistreatment of the child is suspected.
Wood County Sheriff’s Captain Quentin Ellis has confirmed an ongoing investigation, but did not comment further.
The Wood County coroner’s office did respond for the death of a baby on Sept. 17. Records also state an individual from the same residence was transported to the Winnebago Mental Health Institute in Oshkosh.
