WCRT presents a comedy about friendship
For the Rapids City Times
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Marriages come and go, but friendships last forever. At least, that is the case for the women in the Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre (WRCT) performance of “Always a Bridesmaid.”
This hilarious comedy is centered on a steadfast promise four best friends make during Senior Prom, to stand in each other’s weddings. Thirty years later, they’re still trying on dresses. Wit and humor abound in this comedy penned by Nicholas Hope, Jessie Jones, and Jamie Wooten.
Grappling with the hard lessons that accompany marriage and life, these Southern belles depend on each other for tough-talk and unconditional support. Quick with advice and different opinions, we meet Libby Ruth- the hopeful romantic, headstrong Deedra, salt-of-the-earth Charlie, and Monette, who continues to test her friends’ love and patience with all too frequent trips down the aisle.
Always a Bridesmaid runs Sept. 28-29 and Oct. 4-7 at the WRCT auditorium in the Centralia Center, with Thursday – Saturday performances at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online at www.wrctheatre.org or by calling 715-421-0435.
